Young people are invited to have their say on the refresh of the Government's Youth Plan: Turning Voice into Action, which was launched in 2020.

The Ministry of Youth Development (MYD) is running an online survey, open until  5:00pm on Friday 05 May 2023. The survey will help inform the review of the Youth Plan, and ensure the refreshed Plan reflects the voices, needs and hopes of young people across Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Youth Plan: Turning Voice into Action, was an action under the Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy.  The Plan set out actions for government to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 for young people.  It aimed to ensure young people (aged 12-24 years) had a say in decisions about the recovery, to support the wellbeing of young people and their family and whānau, and to enable youth leadership and drive transformative change.

The online survey is part of a wider engagement approach for the review, which was co-designed with the MYD's Youth Advisory Group. Other engagements include in-person and online hui, facilitated by the Youth Advisory Group and supported by MYD staff.

This is the second phase of the review. Phase one, now complete, focused on reviewing the impact of the Youth Plan and identifying opportunities to make improvements.

Please help spread the word and encourage young people in your networks to share their voice and insights through the survey!
