Tools to support alignment with the Strategy

Government agencies are progressively aligning to the Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy, as reflected in their Statements of Intent, business planning documents and funding decisions, and in the development of policy and service design and delivery.

This includes being guided by the Strategy's principles, that challenge us to think more broadly about how we can create environments that promote wellbeing and equity for all children and young people. They also highlight the importance of working together for real impact, and of partnering with tangata whenua.

Agencies also have a key role in driving change within their sectors and communities. This will involve continuing to raise awareness of children and young people’s interests and needs, helping shift practice models, and supporting locally driven solutions to improve child and youth wellbeing.
