Updated Youth Engagement Resources now available

Issue date:

The Ministry of Youth Development (MYD) – Te Manatū Whakahiato Taiohi has released a suite of updated Youth Engagement Resources.

Youth Engagement is about providing opportunities for young people to speak and be heard, particularly on the issues that matter most to them. The resources aim to support youth voice to be meaningfully embedded in decision-making across government and within communities so that young people’s perspectives can be listened to, valued, and guide government/wider community action.

While most of the resources are aimed at supporting agencies and organisations to engage with young people, the Youth Voices Toolkit is made especially for young people to support them to have their voices heard. The resources will also support those working in policy development in central and local government.

MYD worked with its Youth Advisory Group members during 2022/23 to update the resources. Their advice and input is woven throughout the content – a huge mihi to them for contributing their insights.

You can access the updated resources below:

Download them now and help spread the word through your networks, whether that’s to young people or organisations you’re connected to.
